As of the 1st of October 2023, the Building Safety Act 2022 came into effect with Section 156 amending the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, setting the requirement for all fire risk assessments to be recorded irrespective of the number of employees or whether there is a licence in force.
Additionally, employers are required by law to have a plan in place to protect workers from fire-related risks.
This includes having the right equipment and a plan for how to get out of the building in case of an emergency, in addition to providing the relevant fire related information, instruction, training, and supervision.
Employers must also undertake regular fire drills and maintain fire safety provisions at all times. We can help by providing a logical safety solution to your business fire risk to help you not only comply, but also reduce the risk to life and property from a fire.
